Solon Softball Sweeps South Tama

Solon ran its winning streak to four with a WAMAC cross-divisional doubleheader sweep of South Tama on Wednesday in Tama.

Class 3A second-ranked Solon won the opener 13-0 and took the nightcap 12-0 to improve to 6-1 on the season and 2-0 in WAMAC play.

McKenna Miller tossed a one-hitter in the opener, striking out eight and Bryn Hanrahan was 2-for-3 with a home run and two stolen bases.

Jess Heick went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI in game one.  

Kayla West allowed two hits and walked two in a shutout in the nightcap.

Heick was 3-for-3 with a home run, double and five RBI while Madison Rogers added a home run.
