West High Stays No. 1, Regina Enters AP Boys Basketball Poll

West High remained atop the Class 4A Associated Press boys basketball poll for the second straight week while Regina made its season debut in Class 2A poll released on Monday.

Defending 4A champion West High is off to a 5-0 start and tops the 4A rankings ahead of Des Moines North and Dubuque Senior.

Mississippi Valley Conference squads Linn-Mar and Dubuque Hempstead are sixth and 10th respective.

Regina has won five straight games to open the season and climbed into the 2A rankings at No. 10.

Other top-ranked teams include Norwalk (3A), Sioux Center (2A) and North Linn (1A).
