City High Takes Over Top Spot in Class 3A Soccer Rankings

It didn’t take long for City High to return to the top of the Class 3A soccer rankings.

The Little Hawks opened the season ranked third in Class 3A but moved to the top spots in the week one rankings released by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association on Tuesday.

City High (2-0) leads a trio of Mississippi Valley Conference teams atop the 3A rankings.

Cedar Rapids Washington (2-0) moved up four spots from last week to second followed by West High (3-0) which remained at No. 3.

Previously top-ranked and defending state champion West Des Moines Valley (1-1) dropped to fourth.

Regina (1-0) remained second in the Class 1A rankings while Solon (4-0) climbed five spots to No. 5.
