This summer Jess Heick figures to be a fixture in the middle of the Solon lineup.
On Wednesday afternoon Heick locked up her plans for after this summer.
Heick signed her letter of intent on Wednesday to continue her softball career at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids next year.
A three-year starter and .409 career hitter, Heick posted the best season of her career last year as a junior.
Heick hit .420 and ranked second on the team with eight home runs and 54 RBI while helping Solon to a 34-10 record and a third-place finish at the Class 3A state tournament.
Heick has 17 career home runs and has driven in 121 runs in her career after posting career-highs in both categories last season.
Heick also scored 35 runs and stole 26 bases last season.
