West High posted its biggest win of the young season on Tuesday and kept its unbeaten record intact in the process.

The Women of Troy edged defending state champion Cedar Rapids Prairie 5-4 in a Mississippi Valley Conference match at West High.

West High improved to 8-0 on the season and 5-0 in MVC play with the win.

“I'm really proud of the team staying mentally tough and fighting through the close points,” West High coach Amie Villarini said.
