Boys Basketball Roundup: Solon Rallies From 13-point Halftime Deficit to Win at Anamosa

It took two quarters to get going but Solon found a way to bounce back from a pair of tough losses last week.

Solon rallied from a 36-23 halftime deficit to knock off Anamosa 59-57 in a WAMAC East matchup in Anamosa.

AJ Coons scored 13 of his game-high 20 points in the second half as Solon snapped a two-game losing skid.

Ben Krutzfeldt added 16 points as Solon had four players score in double figures while improving to 10-6 on the season and 6-4 in WAMAC East play.

Luke Ira had 11 points and Luke Schaeckenbach added 10 for the Spartans.

Anamosa dropped to 3-12 and 2-8 in WAMAC East games with its fifth straight loss.

Regina Downs West Liberty For Third Straight Win

Regina jumped to a 13-1 lead and rolled to a 51-26 win on Tuesday in a River Valley Conference South Division tilt in West Liberty.

Zach Seaman scored 10 points and Even Brauns added nine points and nine rebounds as Regina improved to 11-3 and 11-1 in RVC play with its third straight win.

Bryce Barnett had six points, three assists and three steals and Masen Miller added six points, six rebounds and three assists.

West Liberty dropped to 2-13 and 1-11 in RVC play with its sixth straight loss.

Vinton-Shellsburg Stops CCA Win Streak at Two

Clear Creek Amana let a first-quarter lead get away in a 41-29 loss to Vinton-Shellsburg on Tuesday in Tiffin.

The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for Clear Creek Amana and dropped the Clippers to 4-10 on the season and 4-6 in WAMAC West play.

Darius Moore led Clear Creek Amana with nine points while Nolan Schwarting added eight points and TJ Bollers had nine rebounds.

Vinton-Shellsburg improved to 1-13 on the season and 1-9 in WAMAC West play.
