Girls Basketball Roundup: West High Wins Seventh Straight

West High extended its winning streak to seven with a 70-54 win over Cedar Rapids Kennedy on Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division matchup in Cedar Rapids.

Audrey Koch poured in a game-high 24 points as 5A No. 10 West High improved to 15-3 on the season. Cedar Rapids Kennedy dropped to 6-12 with the loss.

Lauren Zacharias had 17 points, Cailyn Morgan added 14 and Sydney Allen had seven for West High.

Sadie Powell had 18 points and Auddie Alepra had 16 for Cedar Rapids Kennedy.

Wilton Wraps Up RVC South Title With Overtime Win Over West Branch

Wilton dug out of an early 17-5 hole and secured the River Valley Conference South Division title with a 49-40 overtime win over West Branch on Friday in Wilton.

Class 2A No. 13 Wilton outscored West Branch 9-0 in the overtime period to avenge a 40-38 loss to the Bears in December and secure an outright RVC title.

Wilton improved to 19-2 and 17-2 in RVC play with the win while West Branch dropped to 15-4 on the season and 13-4 in conference play.

Taya Young had 10 points and two assists for West Branch while Sasha Koenig had eight points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Rylan Druecker added seven points and four rebounds for West Branch.
